Garrick Jones is a musician and composer based in London, UK. More about the collaboration with Urs Fischer. Suite for Strings and Oboe and 7 Etudes are a dialogue with Swiss Artist Urs Fischer. They provide the starting points for a continual cycle of remixing - the first cycle was completed through 2003, the second cycle is launched at the Pompidou Centre, Paris on 9 March 2004. The third cycle will continue at Zurich Kunsthalle in July 2004. This work is fully realised through continuous ongoing remixing of the original data. Data disks are available. The instruction for the musicians, dj's and technicians is "do with it what you will". The first cycle of remixing was completed on 9 January 2004 by Darren Richards, Leafcutter John, Jamie McCarthy, Scanner, Mika Sellens and Steve Taylor. The work is published as 3 CDs and manuscript which are available through Sadie Coles Gallery. January 2004

Scanner is committed to working with cutting edge practitioners and has collaborated with artists from every imaginable genre including musicians Bryan Ferry and Laurie Anderson, The Royal Ballet and Random Dance companies, composers Michael Nyman and Luc Ferrari, and artists Mike Kelley and Derek Jarman. His work can be heard on permanent display in the Science Museum London (‘Sound Curtains’) and the Raymond Poincaré hospital in Garches France as part of the bereavement suite (‘Channel of Flight’).
